About Lakewood Ranch

A Place to Live:
Urban planners define a master-planned community as one that combines all the components of life.

Lakewood Ranch is more than a place to live, it is a place to play, a place to shop, a place to work, a place to worship, and a place to learn. It is a community where you can enjoy Florida living at its best.

Lakewood Ranch has established itself as separate community but is close to all of the things Florida has to offer.

The community has established a harmonious balance between the people and nature.

A Place to Play:
With half the land set aside for recreation and open space, the selection of activities is virtually endless. Fifty-four holes of championship golf designed by Arnold Palmer's design team include 18 daily-fee and 27 of 36 private holes at a grand private country club that also includes tennis, swimming and fitness. Open to all are community parks and nature preserves with a wealth of opportunities for fun. Neighborhood lakes vary in size from small fishing ponds to a 160-acre body of water that stretches nearly a mile from end to end.

Pedestrian trail systems are found everywhere. Residents can walk, jog, bike, scooter, or blade from one place to the next on miles of connecting sidewalks and pathways. Fun is a big part of the master plan and residents know there is always something to do at Lakewood Ranch.

A Place to Learn:
From elementary school through college, residents and their families are assured that top quality learning opportunities will be available at home and nearby.

Three of the county's best public schools are within walking distance of the master-planned community. A special thoroughfare meanders through tall pines to provide convenient access to Braden River Elementary and Braden River Middle Schools. Lakewood Ranch High School opened in 1998 as the first high school to be built as such in Manatee County. This state-of-the-art facility has become a landmark school for others to follow.

The Out-of-Door Academy, a prestigious private school since 1924, opened its upper school campus at Lakewood Ranch in 1997, which includes middle and high school classes.

As Lakewood Ranch grows, so do its educational opportunities. Land has already been set aside for future public schools as needed. Manatee Community College offers continuing education classes. Keiser College opened its LWR campus in 2001. It offers degree programs, certifications & continuing education. Additionally Manatee Technical Institute has opened an East County facility adjacent to Lakewood Ranch High School. Also University of South Florida and New College are just a short drive away.

Prices vary widely for homes in Lakewood Ranch- and the homes vary widely as well.  For more information about this great community send me a message below.
