Drew's Guide to Gulf Gate

Gulf Gate is one of the hidden jewels of Sarasota- but the secret is quickly getting out!  This idyllic community sits between US 41 and Beneva Road in South Sarasota.  An impeccably maintained community, Gulf Gate is the South Sarasota epicenter of family life with large sidewalked areas and plenty of room for kids to run around. 

Most of the homes in this area were built in the 1960's and 1970's with concrete block construction and barrel tile roofs.  Many homes also feature vintage Terrazzo flooring which is becoming more and more in style. Always lovingly maintained, the homes in Gulf Gate are now emerging as the new hotspot in Sarasota.  What makes these homes so charming is their close proximity to beaches, shopping, and medical facilities.  Gulf Gate is comprised of Gulf Gate Woods, Gulf Gate East, and several other smaller neighborhoods. Gulf Gate real estate in Sarasota is at an all time high level of popularity.

Gulf Gate also boasts and executive golf course, which is a 27 hole facility. Gulf Gate elementary is also located in the neighborhood which makes it ideal for young families.  On any given morning many children can be seen either walking or riding their bikes to school.  This 27 hole golf facility may be converted into "Gulf Gate Lakes" a subdivision which would comprise new homes from the $600's and also work force family housing.  Plans are still pending, but development looks likely.
