The Courses
Enjoy the beauty and challenge of two superb 18-hole championship golf courses. The Lakes and The Champions are ranked one of the best in Florida, Golfweek Magazine. There are five tee box locations on each tee to accommodate every level of play. This fine club includes 24 grass hitting areas. Famed architect, Joe Lee, designed the Lakes Course, and world renowned architect, Dick Wilson, designed the Champions course. Both courses have been completely renovated.The Lakes Course lives up to its name by having water hazards in play on every hole. There are more than sixty well-positioned sand bunkers on this flat layout, and there are more trees that come into play here then on the Championship Course. The Championship Course is a traditional design with water hazards coming into play on at least thirteen holes. The club plans to enlarge the greens on both courses, which presently are slightly sloped and medium speed. Both courses are home to an abundance of local wildlife, including many species of birds and alligators. The signature hole is #18 on the Championship Course. This hole is a 400-yard, par 4, which requires an approach shot over water to an island green that includes a beautiful fountain just to the left of the green. |
